The Study
Kim J-S et al. Diastolic Blood Pressures and end tidal carbon dioxides during cardiopulmonary resuscitations and their association with outcomes in adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients: A preplanned secondary analysis of the Augmented Medication CardioPulmonary resuscitation (AMCPR) trial. Resuscitation 210 (2025) 110537. Ahead  of Print.
During cardiac arrest, Diastolic blood pressure of >25 mm Hg is often targetted to perfuse coronary vessels. However exact targets are not known. Similarly we use end-tidal CO2 as a surrogate marker of cardiac output.
This study looked at specific targets of diastolic blood pressure to achieve ROSC.
What They Did
This was a preplanned sub-study of the AMCPR trial; Â a randomized clinical trial of 180 patients with out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and invasive DBP monitoring during resuscitation. A further 84 patients were added to the original review.
